Tag Records: New Label Promotes P&G's Body Spray (NPR Music podcast). Brands + Bands = The Future?
Listen to this podcast Tag Records: New Label Promotes Body Spray : NPR Music. The trend to have brands get directly involved with music (i.e. the artists) is everywhere, see Bacardi & Groove Armada, Red Bull Studios etc. Techdirt comments on the Tag project: "Rather than bringing on a big name star to "endorse" its product, Tag Records has signed a relative unknown, and is basically promoting both this new musician, Q, and the body spray at the same time. KFC in Indonesia is pioneering band + brand since 2 years ago. They have successfully grown local indie artist, promote them together with 'fried chicken', and launched few hits albums. Songs and video clips are heavily promoted in-store as well as the artist being used in KFC TV advertisements. You won't be surprise that you also being offered to buy music CD when you dine any of the 250 KFC outlets in Indonesia.
