The job of the news business is to inform. Advertising helps pay the bills. For the longest time, the media forced marketers to create disruptive experiences to form relationships with the audience. Digital publishing made it possible for marketers to be a different kind of content creator

Not disruption but engagement is the future of marketing. Interaction before transaction. A tough challenge for most brands IMHO ;). Patagonia wins the price for their "don't buy this jacket" campaign. Read the whole thing.
